In the French-speaking Walloon region to the country’s south, Belgium has devoted €6 million in NextGenerationEU funding to the building and renovation of childcare facilities. The plan seeks to enhance the supply of childcare for working families, creating a fairer society for all.

With the help of NextGenerationEU funding, Czechia is investing some €360 million in climate-resilient forests nationwide. Having benefitted from this, a cooperative in Měřín is leading the way when it comes to more sustainable forestry.

By investing €54.2 million to employ hundreds of local community nurses, Austria is bringing high-quality primary care to remote areas and relieving pressure on the health system. Further still, it is making a difference to locals’ quality of life.

Using €159 million in NextGenerationEU funding, Austria has decided to reinforce its national household support scheme to replace fossil-fuel heating systems with renewable technology, offering citizens grants to incentivise the change.
